OUT OF BOUNDS
- Beyond the line of any boundary hedge, fence, white post or
line of white stakes acting as a boundary to the course.
- Beyond the line of white stakes surrounding the clubhouse and
Oriental Garden. The Putting Green.
- On or beyond the road at the rear of the 3rd green.
- The Golf Club car park at the rear of the 5th green.
- The areas beyond the embankments behind the 16th tee and behind
the 15th green. Beyond the gates near the 8th green and 9th
tee at the entrance to the Golf Course. The access road beyond
the
walls between the 7th tee and 9th green.
- Beyond the white posts/stakes at the rear of the 10th and 12th
greens.
- Beyond the fence/white stakes surrounding the walled garden
adjacent to the 15th green and the 16th tee
- When playing the 7th, beyond the ditch at the rear of the green.
- When playing the 3rd, left of the hedge from the ditch to the
green as defined by white stakes.
GROUND UNDER REPAIR
Temporary greens once prepared and not in play should be treated
as ground under repair and relief should be taken in accordance
with rule 25, 1b.
All tees, except those for the hole being played, should be treated
as ground under repair and relief should be taken in accordance
with rule 25, 1b.
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
The access road running between the 8th and 9th hole should be
treated as an immovable obstruction and relief should be taken
in accordance with rule 24, 2b.
All hard surfaced paths should be treated as an immovable obstruction
and relief should be taken in accordance with rule 24, 2b.
The wooden stairs built into the 11th green should be treated
as an immovable obstruction, relief should be taken in accordance
with rule 24, 2b. (The hedge is not part of the obstruction).
Stones in bunkers
Stones in bunkers are to be treated as moveable obstructions.
Rule 24,1 applies.
Trees and Shrubs
If any young trees which are staked or tagged interfere with a
players stance or area of intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted
without penalty, and dropped in accordance with Rule 24, 2b(i)
(immovable obstruction)
Fixed Head Sprinklers
All fixed head sprinklers are immovable obstructions and relief
may be obtained under Rule 24,2. In addition, if such an obstruction
on or within two club lengths of the putting green of the hole
being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and
the hole, the player may obtain relief without penalty as follows:
If the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and
is within two club lengths of the intervening obstruction, it may
be lifted and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay
which, (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) not in a hazard or on the
putting green and (c) avoids such intervention.
Overhead cables
If a ball strikes overhead cables or supporting poles the player
MUST disregard that stroke and play another ball as close as possible
to the spot from which the original ball was played.
TEMPORARY LOCAL RULE – ONLY WHEN WINTER RULES APPLY
A ball embedded in its own pitch mark through the green may be
lifted and cleaned and should be dropped, without penalty, as
near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the
hole. The position of the ball must be marked before the ball
is lifted.
TEMPORARY LOCAL RULE – ONLY WHEN WINTER RULES APPLY
A ball lying on any "closely mown area" through the green
may, without penalty, be lifted, cleaned and placed within six
inches of where it originally lay, but not nearer the hole. After
the ball has been placed, it is in play. The position of the ball
must be marked before the ball is lifted. |
